Norfolk State University cruised to a doubleheader sweep (10-1, 18-0) over the visiting Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central University on Tuesday afternoon in Norfolk, Va.

In game one, after host Norfolk State score three times in the first inning, NSU's Jacklyn Peyton homered in the second to drive in two runs and increase the cushion to 7-0. Norfolk State finished with 10 runs on 10 hits. The Lady Eagles were defeated 10-1.

The Lady Eagles lone run came the fifth inning. Kristina Delgado started off the inning with a single. Kristen Schooler came in for Delgado as a pinch runner, and later scored the only run of the day for the Lady Eagles after a double by Jennifer Langston. The Lady Eagles left five runners stranded the game one loss.

Michelle Ishida took the loss for the Lady Eagles, as she gave up six hits and nine runs. Stacey Greene did manage to strike out three Spartan batters in two innings.

In game two, Norfolk State exploded in the first inning with nine runs, and went on to score in every inning except the fifth.

NSU amassed 18 runs and 20 hits, and held the Lady Eagles to only two hits. The Lady Eagles were blanked in game two by the Spartans 18-0.
