NCCU Athletics, WRJD Radio Station Partner to Broadcast Football Games

July 11, 2007

DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics and WRJD 1410 AM announce a partnership to provide radio broadcasts of the 2007 NCCU football season. WRJD, which distributes a signal that covers the entire Triangle and beyond, will carry all 11 NCCU football games as part of the WRJD/Eagle Sports Network.

This is NCCU's first season-long radio broadcast partnership since 1997.

"I am thrilled that NCCU supporters and college football fans in the Triangle will be able to listen to our games on the radio for the first time in 10 years," said Kyle Serba, assistant athletics director for media relations at NCCU. "We are thrilled to be partnering with an outstanding community-oriented station such as WRJD."

Linda Greenwood, owner of WRJD, was equally excited to be carrying NCCU football games.

"North Carolina Central University represents excellence in the community," Greenwood said. "NCCU football won two-straight CIAA Championships and is now moving on to Division I, which is exciting within itself. We are proud to be part of that excitement. WRJD has also adopted a new format and the broadcast of NCCU football games coincides with our format."

All broadcasts will consist of a pre-game, halftime and post game show. Donal Ware will handle play-by-play duties and Eric Curry will provide color commentary.

The audio broadcast of the games will also be available on-line by logging onto www.nccu.edu/athletics or www.1410wrjd.com.
