Frida Cnossen played a pair of close matches for the North Carolina Central University women's tennis team in a 7-0 home loss to Presbyterian College on Saturday afternoon at the NCCU Tennis Courts.

Jamie Rogers lost in a doubles tiebreaker before Cnossen went three sets in her singles match. Those two bouts atop the Lady Eagles lineup were the tightest tilts of the contest.
The Blue Hose started the day with a 6-1 victory at North Carolina A&T State University. Presbyterian starts its 2017 campaign at 2-0 after the pair of wins while NCCU slipped to 0-2.
Cnossen and Rogers were nixed by the sophomore duo of Nicole Croxton and Tracy Johnson, 7-6, after losing the doubles tiebreaker 7-3. The Blue Hose won the other two doubles matches 6-1 and 6-2 to earn the first team point.
Another sophomore in Celine Schepers was able to rally to knock off Cnossen in a three-set battle. Cnossen won the first set before Schepers escaped with the 6-7 (9), 6-3, 10-5 comeback win.
PC took the other five singles matches in straight sets to complete the sweep.
NCCU next hosts Gardner-Webb University on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m.
