Eighty-Eight Student-Athletes Report to Eagles Camp on Sunday

DURHAM, N.C. – The college football preseason officially kicks off for North Carolina Central University Monday night (Aug. 2) at 7:30 with the Eagles’ first practice of the 2010 gridiron season.

Eighty-eight student-athletes reported to NCCU’s preseason camp on Sunday. The Eagles spent the day checking in to residence halls, completing compliance paperwork, taking physicals with team medical staff, and receiving equipment.

Practice times for the rest of the week will be at either 4:00 or 7:30 p.m., depending on weather conditions, mainly the heat. Members of the media may contact the NCCU sports information office to confirm practice times and interview availability.

Following the required five-day acclimation period, two-a-day practices in full pads will begin Saturday (Aug. 7).

On Saturday, Aug. 21, fans will have the chance to see the team in action at the annual “Meet the Eagles” event, which includes a meet-and-greet session with the 2010 NCCU football team followed by the maroon vs. gray scrimmage. Admission to “Meet the Eagles” at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium is free.
