Maggie Latta Lee played basketball and was a member of the YWCA and the college dramatic club before graduating from North Carolina College in 1941. She earned the M.S.W. degree from Atlanta University School of Social Work, and worked as a professional social worker in Roanoke, Va., Philadelphia, Detroit, Media, Pa., and Kalamazoo, Mich. From 1973 to 1983 she was employed as a clinical social worker with the Alamance-Caswell Mental Health Center in Burlington.
