    Kyle E. Serba, a native of Clifton Park, New York, was named as NCCU’s Director of Sports Information in August 1994.
    As Director, Serba has coordinated the media relations, advertising, marketing and promotions efforts for the athletics department during the past 12 years.
    Serba has been presented with the CIAA Sports Information Director of the Year Award four times (1997, 1999, 2000, 2006) during his tenure at NCCU, and he is also a CoSIDA National Publications Contest Award recipient.
    In 2000, he was voted President of the CIAA-Sports Information Directors Association, a position he held for four years. Upon the creation of the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) in August of 2002, Serba was selected as President-Elect of the state-wide organization. In June of 2004, Serba was elevated to the post of NCCSIA President.
    Serba graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Journalism, along with a minor in Speech Communications. He worked as the sports editor of the student newspaper and as a sports broadcaster for the student radio station. Serba was also a four-year starter on the Utica College Pioneer baseball team. His contributions were rewarded with the 1991 Dean’s Student Life Award.
     Before joining the NCCU athletic staff, Serba worked for two years as the Sports Information Director for the University at Albany (N.Y.).
