Harry J. "Choker" Edmonds was the third baseman for the renaissance Eagles. He also played for the Durham Eagles while earning his bachelor's and master's degrees. He had previously played basketball at Florida A&M University, and baseball with the Montclair, N.J., All-Stars; he played both sports in a 4½-year Marine Corps tour of duty during World War H. A former championship winning secondary school coach, Edmonds was also employed in the NCCU Department of Physical Education.
