Evangela Booker became one of North Carolina Central University’s most decorated female student-athletes during her stellar cross country and track career from 1991-94.

During that time, Booker captured eight track All-America honors, four CIAA championships and more than a dozen all-conference awards.

She won back-to-back CIAA cross country titles in 1991 and 1992. She added two more conference championships to her resume’ at the 1991 CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, winning the javelin throw and running on the victorious 4x400-meter relay squad.

Booker was the national runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1993 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, and in the same event placed third in 1991 and fourth in 1992 and 1994.

She garnered Cross Country Team M.V.P. honors during her first two seasons, and Track & Field Team M.V.P. recognition in her final three seasons.
