Eric A. Montgomery, a native of Charlotte, N.C., has been a significant contributor to North Carolina Central University and Eagles Athletics since he enrolled at NCCU in 1983.
He played four seasons of football for the Eagles under the direction of head coach Henry Lattimore. A three-year team captain, Montgomery was a regular starter on the offensive line as a center for two of the school’s best-ever quarterbacks, Gerald Fraylon and Earl “Air” Harvey.
He also excelled off the gridiron, serving as Vice-President of the Sophomore Class and President of the Junior Class, while also receiving several academic scholarships and awards, including a Pre-Law Award in 1987. Montgomery graduated cum laude from NCCU in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
He then attended Marquette University Law School, earning his degree in 1990.
Montgomery began his career as an attorney with a major law firm in Detroit, Michigan. He then became counsel to several Fortune 500 companies and is currently employed by Bank of America as Assistant General Counsel.
In April of this year, he was honored by Marquette University Law School as the Co-Recipient of the Howard J. Eisenburg Award.
A Life Member of the NCCU Alumni Association, Montgomery has served as President of the Charlotte Alumni Chapter for the past four years.
