Donald Leek was the winner of the Evening Star hurdle events, North College’s first national champion in the 60-meter hurdles in New York. He and Spike White were the forerunners for NCCU's outstanding performances in indoor meets. Leek has since been an outstanding coach at Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana.
