Clarissa Ashford Bryant was active in sports and played organized basket­ball as a student at North Carolina College. A mathematics major, she work­ed in statistics for the Radio Corporation of America, as a metrologist for the U.S. Government for 21 years, and for seven years with the Willingboro, N.J., Board of Education.
