Alex L. Jones was a starting middle and outside linebacker for the Eagles from 1970 to 1973. He was named to the All-District 26 NAIA team in 1970 and was picked as MEAC Defensive Player of the Year in 1972. He was named to the All-MEAC team in 1972 and 1973. Jones led the Eagles in tackles in 1970, 1972 and 1973.
A Durham native, Jones took employment with the City of Durham in 1975.
