GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman
Bhrandi Crenshaw achieved three of North Carolina Central University's 16 top-10 finishes, including a win in the women's triple jump, at the Aggie Invitational on April 13-14 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Crenshaw, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, registered a personal record in the triple jump victory with a leap of 12.36 meters (40' 6.75"). She also posted a season-best mark in the women's long jump with a distance of 5.70m to place fifth. Crenshaw capped a busy weekend with a sixth-place effort in the women's high jump at 1.55m.
Crenshaw was among three NCCU women to place in the top-10 in the triple jump. Joining her were sophomore
Sharnea Brown in sixth (11.58m) and freshman
Taelor Ferguson in eighth (11.44m), both personal-best marks.
NCCU junior sprinter
Bethany White used a personal-record time of 23.76 seconds in the women's 200-meter dash to place fourth, finishing behind two professional runners and an all-American.
White also ran a leg of the NCCU women's 4x100m relay, along with
Akia Morris,
Tyresha Alexander and
Erin Johnson, who were runners-up with a time of 45.93.
Morris and Johnson finished in ninth and 10th place in the women's 100m dash with times of 11.98 and 12.10, respectively.
Junior
Kiana Seabrook rounds out the top-10 performances for the NCCU women by placing 10th in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.40m.
The NCCU men's 4x100m relay squad, consisting of
Isaac Roberts,
Deontae Williams,
Blake Hartsfield and
Gordon Lewis, placed third with a time of 40.90.
Roberts tallied a career-best time of 10.65 seconds in the men's 100m dash to place fifth.
Freshman
Gordon Lewis recorded a season-best time of 21.12 seconds for a sixth-place performance in the men's 200m dash. Fellow freshman
Jazire Notice placed 10th in the men's 400m dash in 48.40.
In the field,
Marvin Jones placed fifth in the men's high jump (1.90m) and
Nicolas Anderson finished sixth in the men's pole vault (3.65m).
Up next, NCCU will compete in the Duke University Invitational on April 20-21.
