RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior sprinter Bethany White ran a career-best time of 11.41 seconds to win the 100-meter dash at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State on Friday and Saturday, highlighting a dozen top-10 performances by NCCU.
 
In the same race, White's teammate Akia Morris placed third with a 100-meter time of 11.83 seconds.
 
NCCU freshman Gordon Lewis ran in a near dead heat in the men's 400m dash, finishing six-one-thousandths of a second behind the event winner with an official time of 47.067, settling for second place. Fellow freshman Jazire Notice placed sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 48.25.
 
In the women's triple jump open, freshman Bhrandi Crenshaw soared 12.04 meters as the event runner-up.
 
NCCU teammates Isaac Roberts and Deontae Williams posted identical times of 10.646 seconds in the men's 100m dash to tie for seventh place.
 
NCCU junior Miaysha Bryant finished eighth in the women's 200m dash with a time of 24.75.
 
Bryant, Morris and White teamed up with Tyresha Alexander in the women's 4x200m relay to place third with a time of 1:37.56. The foursome of Morris, White, Alexander and Erin Johnson also placed third in the 4x100m relay in 45.76 seconds, trailing only East Carolina and NC State.
 
In the men's 4x100m relay, Roberts, Williams, Lewis and Blake Hartsfield registered a runner-up time of 40.63 seconds, edging George Mason and North Carolina among an 11-team field. Da'Mon Ingram joined Lewis, Williams and Roberts in the men's 4x200m relay, finishing third with a time of 1:26.22.
 
Up next, NCCU will compete at High Point University in the Vertklasse Meeting on April 6-7.
