NCCU (5-2) held a slim 3-0 advantage before blowing the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 10-0 lead. NJIT (0-3) rallied for four runs in the seventh frame, but the deficit as too much to overcome.
The Eagles return to Durham Athletic Park on Tuesday (Feb. 27) to host Duke University at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
