WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University sophomore
Bethany White posted personal-best times in two events to headline 11 Eagles placing among the top-10 at the annual indoor track & field Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
White, out of Gaithersburg, Maryland, finished fifth in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.65 seconds after recording a career-best mark of 7.57 in the semifinals. She also achieved a personal-best time of 25.38 seconds in the 200m dash to place sixth.
Leading the way in the field was freshman
Deja Stevenson, placing fourth in the women's triple jump (11.65m/38'2.75") and sixth in the long jump (5.38m/17'8"). Sophomore
Kiana Seabrook edged her teammate in the long jump with a leap of 5.51 meters (18'1") to place fourth.
For the NCCU men, sophomore
Armond Shaw placed fourth in the high jump by clearing a height of 2.01m (6'7"), followed by freshman Omega Smalls in sixth place (1.96m/6'5").
Other top performers for NCCU were
Jaszmine Bowman in the women's shot put (6th, 12.82m/42'0.75"),
Jonathan Williams in the 60m dash (10th, 6.95) and the 200m dash (10th, 22.69), and
Deandre James in the 800m run (10th, 1:55.80).
