Ja'Quan Smith: "I am very playful and love to joke around and make people laugh."

Q: Why did you choose NCCU? Â
JS: "I just wanted to get out of Florida. I also had a teammate that came to NCCU to play and I wanted to reconnect with him."

Q: What is your major? What do you want to do after NCCU? Â
JS: "Criminal Justice. NFL or Coast Guard."

Q: What do you like most about being an NCCU Eagle? Â
JS: "Stepping on the field on Saturdays."

Q: What has been your most memorable moment at NCCU?
JS: "All the times we won that led to the three championship rings."

Q: What is your favorite part of game day at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium?
JS: "Running out the tunnel and hearing the cheers from our amazing fans… and of course winning."

Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
JS: "I have a playlist of my favorite songs that I listen to. On game days, I just take my time doing normal morning routines to relax my mind. I also try to talk to my mom and my son. They seem to have the right things to say being they are hours away and cannot make my games."

Q: Why football? Â
JS: "I always had passion for football. When I was younger, I dreamed of someday playing in the NFL and making lots of money."

JS: "Playful. Ambitious. Dedicated."

Q: How would you like to be remembered from your playing days at NCCU? Â
JS: "As one of the most exciting defensive linemen."

Q: If you could invite any living person to WG Pearson dining hall for lunch, who would it be and why?
JS: "My mother, because she has been the most loyal person to me and I would do anything to just be able sit down and have a nice lunch with her."
