GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior 
Gregory Coward led North Carolina Central University at the Greensboro Invitational, placing 25th out of 115 runners at Hagan Stone Park on Saturday, Sept. 24.
 
Coward, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, finished the 8k race in 29:31.4 to place 11th.
 
Orane Morais and 
Deandre James finished 59th and 60th, respectively, with times of 33:00.4 and 33:05.9, followed closely by 
Phillip Robinson-Hayes at 33:24.1 in 62nd place.
 
NCCU's other men's competitors were 
Jahmon Allen (34:41.4, 75th), 
Marcus Campbell (37:31.4, 94th) and 
James Johnson (41:47.5, 108th).
 
The NCCU women were topped by freshman 
Nakai Matthews (Copiague, N.Y.), who crossed the finish line of the 5k course with a time of 25:03.1 for 61st place out of 124 runners.
 
Shania Nicely was the next Lady Eagle to finish, placing 69th with a time of 25:20.2, followed by 
Kiana Seabrook in 72nd place at 25:38.1.
 
The other Lady Eagle runners were 
Jaleesa Smoot (28:09.6, 90th), 
Lovasia Thomas (29:05.2, 98th) and 
Star Satterwhite (29:17.9, 99th).
 
With only two Division I teams in the field, NCCU finished behind High Point University in the team standings for both men and women.
