NORFOLK, Va. – Two North Carolina Central University Eagles –
Frederick Henry-Ajudua and
Jamaal Symmonett – have garnered weekly Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference football awards for their performances during a 31-14 victory over Bethune-Cookman, the MEAC announced Monday.
Henry-Ajudua, a redshirt-senior from Durham, North Carolina, has been named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week. Against the Wildcats, he collected six tackles with three solo sacks for a loss of 19 yards. Henry-Ajudua also earned honorable mention accolades as the STATS FCS National Defensive Player of the Week, as well as HBCU Gameday Defensive Player of the Week.
Symmonett, a redshirt-senior from Nassau, Bahamas, has been selected as the MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week. He earned a grade of 98 percent on his blocking assignments, including five pancake blocks, with no sacks allowed and no penalties, as the Eagles amassed 489 yards of total offense during the win at Bethune-Cookman.
