DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women's basketball senior
Tisha Dixon has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2015 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.
A native of Kinston, North Carolina, Dixon averaged 10.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals in seven games during the final month of 2015. In that time, she posted a pair of double-doubles with 10 points and 10 rebounds at Charlotte on Dec. 2, and 13 points, 10 boards, five steals, two assists and a blocked shot against Howard on Dec. 7. She closed out the month with a season-best 18 points with eight rebounds versus UNC-Greensboro on Dec. 31.
Dixon boasts a grade point average above 3.0 as a social work major at NCCU. She is on track to graduate in May.
After earning her bachelor's degree from NCCU, Dixon is considering the pursuit of a master's degree.
