DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University men's tennis senior
Daniil Gerasimov has been named the NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2015 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the court and in the classroom.
A native of Belgorod, Russia, Gerasimov capped off one of the best seasons in NCCU tennis history in April, closing out the campaign with a modern day school record 18 singles victories. His record-breaking performance included a 17-match win streak with triumphs over players from No. 6 Duke and Boston College.
On April 16, Gerasimov was announced as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year. Eleven days later at NCCU's annual athletics awards program, The Eddies, he was the recipient of the NCCU Male Student-Athlete of the Year award.
Gerasimov graduated from NCCU on May 9 with a degree in psychology and an overall grade point average of 3.753.
