Men’s Basketball Senior Averages 20.4 Points per Game in December

DURHAM, N.C. (NCCUEaglePride.com) – North Carolina Central University men's basketball senior guard Jeremy Ingram has been named the Nationwide Insurance NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for December 2013 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the hardwood.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., Ingram averaged 20.4 points per game during the month of December, establishing himself as one of the top scorers in the nation. He also grabbed 3.6 rebounds and played 37.0 minutes per contest in five December outings.

The 6-3 guard started the month of December as the third-leading scorer in the NCAA Division I ranks with an average of 25.8 points per game.

Ingram netted a career-high 37 points against No. 9 Wichita State on Dec. 22, connecting on 12-of-21 field goal attempts, including 7-of-13 from three-point range. The East Mecklenburg High School product also contributed 24 points in a critical non-conference win over Winthrop on Dec. 18.

After opening the season by dropping 27 points on Cincinnati, Ingram posted a three-game November stretch of scoring 29 points at Campbell, 29 points at N.C. State and 36 points versus Appalachian State – all NCCU victories. The historic win over N.C. State was the Eagles' first over an ACC team.
