NCCU'S DIXON EARNS SECOND MEAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

Rookie Posts Fourth Double-Double in Lady Eagles Victory Over Savannah State


NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina Central University rookie forward Tisha Dixon been selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for her efforts during the week of Feb. 25, the conference announced Monday.

The Kinston, N.C., native also earned the award on Feb. 4.

This time, Dixon scored a team-high 12 points and added 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season in the Lady Eagles victory against Savannah State on Saturday, March 2.. She shot 75-percent from both the floor (3-of-4) and the charity stripe (3-of-4).

Dixon is currently the Lady Eagles’ leading rebounder and ranked fifth overall in the MEAC averaging 8.3 boards per game and is the second-leading scorer for her squad, averaging 7.9 points per game.
 
The Lady Eagles return to the hardwood for their 2012-2013 final regular season match-up March 7 at Hampton in Hampton, Va.
