DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women’s track and field senior
Paig Robinson has been named the Nationwide Insurance NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2012 in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments inside the track and in the classroom.
A native of Piscataway, N.J., Robinson earned all-conference honors in the javelin throw by placing third at the 2012 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a distance of 38.18 meters (125' 3").
At the spring 2012 NCCU Honors Convocation, she received the Award for Academic Excellence in the Department of Sociology and was recognized on the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in the Social Sciences, and Psi Chi National Honorary Society in Psychology.
Robinson graduated on May 12 with bachelor's degree as a double-major in Sociology and Psychology, boasting an overall grade point average of 3.744. She achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the final four semesters of her academic career at NCCU.
