NORFOLK, VA. - Sophomore Troy Marrow (Lutherville, Md.) and freshman Tyler Murphy (Islip, N.Y.) were selected to 2012 MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) All-Tournament team for their performance in the Eagles first-ever conference championship at the NCAA’s Division I level the league announced Sunday.
In three games, Marrow swung a hot bat going 5-for-12 (.417) at-the-plate with a double, a triple, three runs scored, and a team-high four RBI. The third baseman’s unreal performance in the 10-3 victory over Savannah State to eliminate the Tigers, he went 3-for-5 at-the-dish with a double, triple, two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Eagles.
In both of NCCU’s tournament losses, Murphy stepped up for a combined 2-for-4 (.500) effort with a run scored and two RBI. Murphy ended the three-game span plating two runs for the Eagles.
