Complete Men's Division I Results
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – The North Carolina Central University men’s golf team closed out the season with a 10th place finish in the 11-team Division I field at the 26th PGA Minority Collegiate Championship in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Playing with heavy hearts just two days after the passing of their head coach Paul Perry, the Eagles posted a team score of 345 in Sunday’s final round on the Wanamaker course of The PGA Golf Club.
NCCU sophomore Spencer Jones topped the squad with a three-day total of 240 (78, 80, 82), including an opening-round 78.
Junior transfer Ryne Toole shot a three-round score of 250 (83, 85, 82), while sophomore Andre Jones finished two strokes behind Toole with a 252 (84, 86, 82). Fellow sophomore Walter Batts tallied a 279 (88, 92, 99), while senior Jack Waissen filled in for senior captain Braden Cox, who missed the event to attend graduation, shot a 323 in his first college golf competition.
