DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University football junior quarterback
Jordan Reid has been named the Nationwide Insurance NCCU Student-Athlete of the Month for September 2012 in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments on the field and in the classroom.
A native of High Point, N.C., Reid completed 44 of 74 pass attempts for 532 yards and four touchdowns during the month of September.
On Sept. 15 against Duke in the Bull City Gridiron Classic, Reid came off the bench to spark the Eagles’ offense, completing 17 of 26 passes for 218 yards, while also running for a touchdown.
On Sept. 22 at Savannah State, in just his second career start under center, Reid threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns on 22-for-34 passing to lead NCCU to a 45-33 road victory.
A recreation administration major at NCCU, Reid boasts an overall grade point average of 3.337. He is also an active member of the NCCU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving on the leadership council as vice president.
